A Thoughtful DM Took Udodilim and Malik from the Friend Zone to Forever Lane!

Recognising a nearly missed opportunity and going after it takes courage, and Udodilim did exactly that. Her realisation that what she and Malik shared was no ordinary connection led them straight to forever.

The lovebirds met while Udodilim got her hair done at her friend’s apartment. She was getting ready for her Law School graduation shoot at the time. Even though their conversation was so smooth and engaging, she was still so distracted. It was not until after a chat with her friends that Udodilim realised that something beautiful had, in fact, transpired between them. Without wasting any more time, she quickly reached out to him on Instagram, and the rest, they say, is history.

Now this interesting turn of events has led the lovebirds to an adventure of a lifetime! With a grand Igbo traditional wedding, the Nigerian-Sierra Leonean duo tied the knot, looking absolutely radiant in their regal attire. Not so long ago, they had us swooning over their beautiful pre-wedding photos, and this time around, it’s their wedding photos we can’t stop gushing about. What if Udodilim didn’t do a 180-degree reflection on their conversation? We’d thankfully never have to know. 😍

Enjoy their wedding photos and love story below:

Their love story, as shared by Udodilim:

We met serendipitously during a hair appointment at a mutual friend’s house. I was too preoccupied with my upcoming law school graduation photo shoot and passing the bar after Columbia Law School to notice that I was enjoying gisting with the nerdy software engineer. After I interrupted his coding, he offered to buy me some food during my hair appointment. As soon as my law school graduation photoshoot was over, I spoke to my BFFS and realised I had missed out on exchanging numbers with a phenomenal guy. I quickly found him on IG, slid into his DMs, and the rest was history….well, after we both got over the mistaken assumption that we had been placed in the “friend zone.”
