You’ve probably heard of “Operation Save the Day,” but have you ever heard of “Operation Love”? Udunma’s cousin went on a full-on mission to bring her something beautiful with Ikechukwu, and safe to say, the operation was a complete success!
It all happened suddenly on a random day when Udunma’s cousin sent all of Ikechukwu’s details to her, completely convinced that he was, in fact, the one for her. Without wasting much time, her cousin also sent Ikechuckwu a message about Udunma, and that is how this sweet love story began! Udunma eventually texted him on Instagram, and from there, they picked up the pace, two strangers who quickly grew fond of each other. Distance could not hinder this love, so even when they both lived in Australia and the U.S.A, their bond grew tighter.
Now, the lovebirds are saying yes to forever! They tied the knot in a beautiful Igbo traditional wedding, one deeply rooted in culture, effortless charm and sweet love. They made a regal couple as they stepped into this forever chapter, and we are so grateful to Udunma’s cousin a.ka. matchmaker extraordinaire for starting this journey on their behalf! 😍

Their love story, as shared by Udunma:
It started like every great love story… with chaos. I was minding my peaceful business when my cousin decided to launch what can only be described as Operation Love. My phone lit up with screenshots, an Instagram handle, his full name, location — the full investigative package. Her exact words? “Wake up o, I have a man for you.” Before I could even process what was happening, she had already sent my details to him too. Because why gently introduce two people… when you can go full-blown love ambush? 😅 So in 2023, under mild pressure and very strong cousin threats, I sent the first Instagram DM. It was awkward… the good kind of awkward. Two strangers trying not to try too hard. Testing the waters. Finding rhythm in small conversations. But something about us… just worked.
Udunma made a stunning bride!

Instagram became WhatsApp, the universal sign that things were getting real. Calls grew longer. Time zones became less of an obstacle and more of a secret, proof that someone, somewhere, was rearranging his entire schedule just to catch me before bed. Because here’s the twist…He was in Australia. 🇦🇺I was in the United States. 🇺🇸 And neither of us had any business falling for someone that far away. But we did anyway. Late nights. Early mornings. “What time is it there?” became our love language. Then we did something even braver…We showed up. He flew across the world. More than once. Through long flights, jet lag, and distance, he kept showing up. And then I did the same. I stepped into his world. Met the people who mattered most to him. Saw the life he was building.

We met each other’s families and talked about the future, not “someday” dreams, but real plans. We laughed easily and understood each other deeply. Somewhere between the distance and the devotion… love quietly settled in. Then one day, he flew to the United States again. Not just for a visit. But with a question. I may or may not have slightly… accidentally… somewhat… derailed the proposal 😅 (that story is coming later). But the answer? The answer was YES 💍✨. From a cousin’s “I have a man for you” to Instagram DMs to long-distance love
to crossing oceans.
