First Came Friendship, Then Love! Jessica and Gbolahan’s Wedding Photos Will Warm Your Heart

Love often happens in stages. Sometimes, it starts with two strangers meeting, then moves to cordial conversations here and there, before you know it, blossoms into friendship, and eventually leads to falling head over heels in love. ❤️

Jessica and Gbolahan’s fairytale love story followed this beautiful path. They were once two strangers at university who eventually built a sweet love haven for themselves. Now, they’ve sealed their love in the most beautiful way with a vibrant Igbo-Yoruba wedding! The lovebirds first stepped out in stylish akwaocha looks, proudly representing the Delta-Igbo roots. They later switched things up in lovely asooke outfits to honour Yoruba culture. Their big day was buzzing with so much love and joy, and even their guests radiated the happy energy. These two look absolutely adorable together, and we’re so excited for them as they begin this beautiful new chapter as husband and wife!

Enjoy their wedding photos and love story below:

Their love story, as shared by Jessica:

Sometimes, love begins long before you realize it. Gbolahan and I met at university. We knew of each other and were cordial, but we weren’t friends. He was three years ahead of me, and since we weren’t in the same class, our paths rarely crossed beyond the occasional hello. Every now and then, we would wish each other a happy birthday on Facebook. Little did we know that those simple birthday messages would eventually become part of our story.

Did someone say, gorgeous bride? 😍

Years later, we started talking and quickly became close friends. It felt easy and natural, and somewhere along the way, our friendship grew into something more. At the time, I was living in Nigeria while Gbolahan was in the United States. When I moved to Canada, the distance between us became much smaller, giving us the opportunity to explore what was growing between us. We decided to make it official, and we haven’t looked back since. Looking back, it’s beautiful to think that we never set out to find each other. We simply knew of each other, became friends, fell in love, and eventually found our way to forever.

From two people who barely knew each other at university, to friends, to lovers, to husband and wife, our story has been one of perfect timing. And somehow, after all the years and all the distance, we found our way home to each other.
