From the DMs to a Fun Afang Soup Date — Now, It’s Forever for Florish & Dimzi

When two people are meant to be together, fate aligns in the most unusual ways. Florish wasn’t one to always check her DMs, but on this fateful day, she received a message notification from Dimzi that was just too hard to ignore.

They kept the conversation going, and soon, she found herself looking forward to hearing from him every single day. From a fun Afang soup date to family visits and deep conversations, Florish and Dimzi found themselves in a love so genuine, they couldn’t deny it.

Now, that sweet connection has led them to a beautiful forever, and we are so excited for them. They tied the knot in a vibrant Igbo traditional wedding that was a sweet blend of love, culture, and style. We could certainly feel the chemistry in each of their photos, and you sure want to take it all in as you scroll.

Enjoy their traditional wedding photos and love story below:

Their love story as shared by Florish:

I hardly ever check my message, mostly because I never get notified. But on this blessed day, my notifications were turned on, and I believe a message from a fan came in. I responded kindly and moved on. We continued chatting for a bit, and I genuinely looked forward to hearing from him the next day. Our conversations got deeper—it wasn’t so much “fan energy” anymore. My sweet love as I like to call him is a genuine person who always wants to understand the why behind things (can be annoying). That was admirable… and also a little threatening for me, because I had built walls. But over time, with more conversation, I slowly let my guard down and began to enjoy every moment spent with him. He even reignited my university love for Jon Bellion’s music and Ed Sheeran!

Eventually, he quite officially, asked to take things to the next level, and after some thought and prayer, I agreed. We spent time together during his trip to Abuja.  We were together almost every day, for those days. He always wanted to be around me. He kept raving about the best afang soup from a certain restaurant he missed. I was a bit apprehensive—it wasn’t the fanciest place—but I enjoyed his company. He was cute, I mean—lol, my tall IJGB. We bonded over Pounded yam and Afang soup. He offered to share his meal with me, from the same bowl—and honestly, that’s one of the best things you can do for me. I enjoyed it. He even cut his meat for me! I have no memory of feeding him lol—but if I did, that’s second nature. I take care of the ones I love and I hope to do that forever.

A sweet blend of love and culture!

In that moment, and many other moments, I could see us doing this for a long time. Months later, we took a trip together and fell even more in love. I was beautifully welcomed by my mommy-in-love. I was the first to be brought home. It was such a memorable weekend. Then he casually asked me if I was ready for forever—and if I had to pick a month, what month would that be? Had I known! He joked about it a lot, but he was certain. And he made it happen—beautifully. Now, the rest is history—as we make history together, with you, on our special day. I rock with you, sweet love, till our wheels fall off.

Their love story as shared by Dimzi:

From “thank you fam” to forever. My casual stroll through social media led me to Florish—an orchestrated coincidence and my day of fortune. She felt strangely familiar, and I genuinely wanted to know more about her. Conversations turned into familiarity, which then grew into affection. Chatting and frequent calls led to our first meeting. She was the Bonnie to my Clyde in Abuja—we practically went everywhere together. We broke bread often, and at one meal, she cut the food and fed me herself. It was pleasantly startling. “Nobody feeds Dimzi in his mouth,” I thought, but I found myself wanting to be fed more of that love.

Dimzi is here for his bride!

Here she comes in all her beauty 😍

Our talks deepened, and I ended up spending my birthday with her. That time, it felt like we were siblings. I loved her playfulness and her willingness to go anywhere with me—no complaints. I had to ask if she was in a season to marry, and luckily, she was. I got my answer and went to work. I asked her to be mine—and now, here we are, ready to attend our wedding. She fits me just right. When the time comes when we can’t walk anymore, we’ll be sitting on our front porch, side by side, in two rocking chairs—my name on one, and hers on the other. Young girl, rock with me.

The second outfit slay we signed up for!
