Naomi & Alexander Found Love On a Dating App! Enjoy Their Beautiful Gbagyi Trad

Dating apps have been connecting hearts for such a long time now. If you’ve been skeptical about using them, then Naomi and Alexander’s beautiful love story could convince you otherwise.

In 2023, the lovebirds crossed paths on Bumble. Something about Alexander’s profile caught Naomi’s attention, and she just had to send him a message. Three days into talking, the lovebirds went on their first date. It was a nice date, but their second ‘Sip and Paint’ date took the cake. It was absolutely magical! Between all the painting, sipping, laughter, and Alexander playing knight in shining armour, a beautiful love blossomed.

Now, the lovebirds have stepped into forever with a beautiful Gbagyi traditional wedding. The Canadian-Nigerian duo have us completely swooning over their stunning wedding photos. Alexander fully embraced his bride’s Gbagyi roots with so much finesse. From the dowry presentation to feeding each other from a calabash, to the vibrant traditional outfits, every moment of their big day was filled with rich culture and sweet, undeniable love. Love truly knows no bounds, and we are so glad Cupid did his thing, bringing these two together across borders. 😍

We met like most couples in the 2020’s, online ;-). It was a Thursday, and I was scrolling on Bumble, and I saw the most interesting profile highlighting deep talk and intellectual depth. I thought, “That’s different” (you’d understand if you’ve ever been on the apps, haha), so I decided to send a hello. Bumble in 2023 only let women send the first message; he uses that to say I made the first move. By Sunday, we had our first date. He invited me for brunch. We got along well, but what was truly magical was the 2nd. Alex planned the most amazing date, Paint and Sip, the weekend before Halloween, in a Kindergarten.

We had the best date. I laughed so hard, and we made paintings that we still have to this date. When he was driving me home, he didn’t want the night to end, so he suggested we go grab a drink. The best conversation happened. Quickly, I realized how genuine, honest and caring he was. I can remember thinking, “omg, this might be it”. I was excited. Fast forward an hour. He was dropping me at home (gave him an approximate location, of course), and you won’t believe it, the building in front of my apartment was literally on fire. The roads were blocked, and I don’t speak French. I didn’t know how to get to my apartment.

Here Alex comes, going under the yellow tape, walking over to the cops and asking questions. I assumed he said “How do I get into this building? She lives here”, but again I don’t speak french so who knows, haha. If you know Alex, this part wouldn’t surprise you. He found a way to get me to my door, of course, he did. It has honestly been magical since then. He is truly my best friend, and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him.
