How did your friendship with your bestie begin?
Becky: Naomi and I were neighbours before we became friends. A mutual friend of hers brought her to the apartment building where I was living because there was a vacant flat available. She ended up taking the place, and that’s how we first met. Living so close to each other meant we saw each other often, and over time, our casual interactions naturally turned into a real friendship. We both run businesses( she’s a baker, I’m a fashion designer), and we started referring our clients to each other and working together often. Through those moments, supporting each other’s dreams, celebrating wins, and showing up for one another, our bond grew even deeper.
Naomi: Our friendship began when I moved into the apartment next to Becky’s. A mutual friend had brought me to check out the vacant flat, and that’s how we first met. Living close allowed us to connect naturally, and over time, our friendship grew into something deeper. What makes our bond so special is that we support each other in every season of life, celebrating wins, navigating challenges, and always being there for each other, no matter what.
In one word, how would you describe your bestie:
Naomi: Solid, Becky is dependable, consistent, and always there when it matters most.
Becky: Selfless, Naomi is always thinking about others, constantly showing up with love, support, and generosity.
What’s one memorable thing she did for you during your wedding that you’ll never forget?
Becky: She surprised me financially during my wedding preparations in a way I never expected. It wasn’t just the gesture itself, but the love and thought behind it that meant so much to me. In such a busy and emotional season, her support reminded me how blessed I am to have a friend who truly shows up for me. It’s something I’ll never forget.
Why was it important for you to stand by her on such a special day?
Naomi: I made sure I was always there. Weddings can be overwhelming, and being there to ease her burdens, celebrate the moments, and ensure she felt fully supported was the least I could do for someone who has been such a constant in my life.
Looking back at your journey, what’s one thing your bestie did that made you feel especially supported or loved?
Becky: Looking back, one thing she did that made me feel especially supported was that she was always there to ease the burden. Even when I didn’t ask for help, she would show up, making sure I felt cared for and never alone. Her presence through every step of the journey made me feel deeply loved and supported.
What was going through your mind when you saw her as a bride on her wedding day?
Naomi: My heart was full. Seeing her glow with happiness and step into this beautiful new chapter reminded me how far she’s come and how much love surrounds her. I felt so proud, honoured, and just… so happy for her.
As a bride, why do you think it’s important to have your best friend by your side on your big day?
Becky: Your wedding day can be emotional and overwhelming, so having someone by your side who genuinely supports, understands, and celebrates you brings a sense of comfort and joy. Even if you have little disagreements along the way, they understand that the moment is about you and not them. It’s that kind of understanding and support that makes their presence so special on a day like that.
What was your favourite moment from the wedding celebration?
Naomi: My favourite moment was seeing her dancing and being happy with her husband during the reception. Everything we had worked for, every plan and every little effort, came together, and she was radiating pure joy. Being able to share that moment with her was unforgettable.
What’s your favourite memory together outside the wedding?
Becky: My favourite memory has to be the countless moments we’ve just laughed, talked, and supported each other through life. Those simple, real moments are what make our friendship feel like true sisterhood. Naomi wasn’t my chief bridesmaid; my sister was, but she was always there. She had to set up at the hall and make sure everything was done as I wanted it ( she’s very particular about details) 😅. I was her chief bridesmaid.
What’s your favourite memory together outside the wedding?
Naomi: Ahhh, if I start to mention all the memories we have, we won’t finish here! We’re not even the type to be on the phone for hours, but somehow it just became so easy. We’d gist, laugh, laugh till we start crying, those are the memories I cherish the most.
How has your friendship shaped the kind of woman you are becoming today?
Becky: She has taught me patience, generosity, and the importance of investing in meaningful relationships. I think having someone like her in my corner has helped me grow into a more grounded, compassionate, and intentional woman, someone who values real connections and strives to lift others as she lifts me.
How has your friendship with Becky influenced the woman you are becoming today?
Naomi: Becky has shown me what it means to be loyal, intentional, and a true support system for the people you love. Seeing how she navigates life with grace and generosity inspires me to be more thoughtful, present, and grounded in my own relationships.
What’s one piece of advice that helped you through the wedding planning process that you’d love to share with other brides?
Becky: Focus on the good things and don’t let anything stress you. There will always be little challenges along the way, but your wedding day is about joy, love, and celebration. Keep your heart in the right place, enjoy every moment, and let the stress roll off. You’ll remember the happiness far more than the small hiccups.
