One of the beautiful things about university is how it connects you with many people, some of whom go on to earn a precious spot in your heart. That was the case for Aisha and Abdullah, who went from university mates to soulmates.

They had both just been admitted to the University of Ilorin to study Law when they met. Their connection only got stronger during the exams, when they started studying together. It was time to go home for the holidays,  and that was when it hit Abdullah: he wanted more than just friendship. He asked her out, and since then, the lovebirds have been inseparable! Now wedding bells are ringing, and they’ve answered the special call with beautiful pre-wedding photos. It’s a mix of Northern and vintage elegance in each frame, and we are swooning over it all. 😍

Their love story, as shared by Abdullah: 

Our journey began in 2014 when we both entered the Faculty of Law at the University of Ilorin. She actually noticed me on my very first day, even commenting on the glasses I was wearing. However, we didn’t truly connect until exam season approached, when our respective circles started studying in the same area. By the second semester, we had branched off from the group to study, just the two of us.

The turning point came while she was preparing for her uncle’s wedding (believe their eldest child is about nine years old now). She was headed to the train station for a trip to Kano while I was going into town, and in that moment, it just clicked for me. I asked her out as soon as she returned. Since then, we’ve been discovering our Mahktub moment step by step, and now we have finally arrived. While we faced a couple of struggles over the years, they were always external challenges; between the two of us, we remained a united front.
