The colour white reflects many things… peace, warmth, and elegance. For a bridal look, it gives a sense of calm that feels timeless and effortlessly beautiful.
This styled shoot, “La Dame en Blanc,” draws inspiration from that very essence, serving as the perfect civil wedding inspiration. With a chic blazer dress that commands power while still embracing femininity, and the lovely fascinator that brings the concept to life in such a striking way, the look beautifully balances structure and softness. The look is then captured in a soft, editorial way that feels intentional and refined, giving us a modern bridal vision that feels like art.
Here’s how the photographer describes the shoot:
We were inspired by a modern Ethiopian bride, but we wanted a twist. Something that felt like Architecture and Royalty in one mix. Ethiopian culture is typically known for its regal white (or ivory ) and gold display during bridal celebrations. We made sure to infuse this in our overall look. We stuck to a white palette with gold accents from accessories provided by Neys Accessories.
The boldness of the Dress’ structure made us come up with the Name ‘La Dame en Blanc’ – A lady in white. Such Regal elegance certainly can’t be missed in a crowd, and that’s how every Bride should own her day. This piece was put together by Moyoola Atelier. Her impeccable eye for a modern bride is reflected in the veil, headpiece, and the handcrafted flower piece. Those stand-out statements that pull out the girl and queen in every woman all at once. We were also inspired by several artists and the beauty of Ethiopian culture.
The natural weave for the hair pulled it all together. This one was styled by the delectable BN Hairs. The smoky eye and the brown-themed lips were the final touches we needed to keep the makeup Afro-centred, and Glam by Luchie pulled that off effortlessly. The visuals are proof that Brown Art Imagery and Forvr Create understood the theme and brought the entire vision to life brilliantly.
