You know that feeling when you order jollof rice and get free fried plantain on the side? 😍 Well, that’s how Anthony describes his first encounter with the beautiful Kome — unexpected, delightful, and simply meant to be!

He had just been invited to join an African Students’ Organisation meeting and, even though he initially had no plans to attend, fate was definitely on his side because that was where he met his soulmate. They exchanged contacts, crossed paths again, and soon got their love story in motion. Now, it’s all love in the air as they gear up to spend the rest of their lives together. A dash of fate and a sprinkle of ghosting. Meeting Kome was like ordering jollof rice and getting free fried plantain on the side, unexpected, delightful, and obviously meant to be. Honestly, it felt like the universe had called a meeting with my destiny and said, “Today’s the day, people!”
It all started on a Thursday (the day no one expects magic). I had gone to the business office to make some payments in full-on adulting mode. A lady beside me overheard me speaking and asked, “Are you Nigerian?” That small question led to an invitation to an African Students’ Organization (ASO) meeting. I had no plans to attend… until fate stepped in.

That’s where I first saw her Kome walking in like a scene from a Bollywood movie (wind blowing indoors included). She was running for ASO president, and though I didn’t hear a word of her campaign speech, my brain was already planning wedding vows. She won, of course.
I introduced myself, got her number, and thought I’d scored, until she ghosted me. Months later, destiny crossed our paths again in a parking lot. This time, my game was sharper, and it worked. From that moment on, the dates, laughter, and shared moments confirmed it. she was the one.
