The Cameroonian lovebirds met at a convention in Houston 10 years ago. It was actually Bertrand who first spotted her, and he was instantly mesmerised. He simply couldn’t get over her. So, he followed her on Instagram, silently nurturing a crush from the sidelines for a whole year. Not until one fateful day, when he gathered the courage and messaged her with a pick-up line. Did it work out? Yes, it did! Gradually, their friendship deepened, blossoming into a love so beautiful. Then came the magical rooftop proposal in Italy, Bertrand asked her to be his forever, and she said yes!

Now the lovely duo are acting upon this beautiful promise of a lifetime with a grand Cameroonian traditional wedding! It was indeed an exquisite celebration of love and culture, where they honoured their Banso and Mbatu tribes in regal style. From the radiant traditional toghu attire they donned, to the rich culture and love that filled the day…we can tell what they share is absolutely amazing. Before we ever spoke, I had already spotted Lehna. It all began in 2016 at a CAMSA convention in Houston, where I noticed Lehna from across the room and couldn’t help but admire her. I followed her on Instagram, and after a year of quietly yearning and admiring her from afar, I finally worked up the courage to send her a bold and unexpected message on Snapchat, one that caught her completely off guard and made her laugh. At first, she thought I was cocky, maybe even a little cheesy. Unconvinced, Lehna brushed off my texts and calls for nearly eight months, choosing not to take me too seriously. But as always, curiosity lingered. Then one ordinary day, a single deep conversation changed everything. What began as casual dialogue turned into hours of meaningful connection, and the spark that had been quietly building suddenly became undeniable.

In that moment, Lehna realised there was so much more to me than met the eye and from then on, she was completely drawn to me. What started as playful banter soon grew into sweet good-morning messages and endless late-night conversations. By the time I flew to San Diego, where Lehna lived and studied, our connection was undeniable. At her favourite beach, I asked Lehna to be my girlfriend, and from that moment, our love story truly took flight. Our relationship flourished despite long distance and different time zones, growing stronger through weekends between Las Vegas and San Diego, and unforgettable adventures in Bali, Turkey, Morocco, Greece, and Dubai. Along the way, we supported one another through life’s biggest milestones, celebrating graduations, first jobs, purchasing Real estate investment properties together and personal growth, always choosing each other.

On May 25, 2023, in Positano, Italy, I planned the grandest gesture yet. What Lehna thought was a simple dinner turned into the surprise of a lifetime. As we walked up the steps of the building, I led her to a stunning rooftop overlooking the Amalfi Coast, adorned with beautiful flowers and a breathtaking heart-shaped sign that asked the BIG question. As the sun set over the coastline, I went down on one knee and asked Lehna to be my forever. In that moment, surrounded by love and beauty, it was truly written in the stars.

Now, our journey continued as we stepped into the next chapter of forever. With my roots in the Banso tribe and Lehna’s in the Mbatu tribe of Cameroon, we honoured both cultures in a beautiful traditional wedding in Douala, Cameroon, surrounded by family, heritage, and the people we love most. And as one celebration marked the beginning, another awaits — an upcoming destination white wedding where we would celebrate with their closest friends and family, set to take place later this year, with the location to be revealed by Lehna. This was only the beginning of our forever.
