Oyin and Tosin’s Fairytale Began With an Introduction by Mutual Friends

Not all angels wear capes—sometimes, they come in the form of beautiful humans who lead their friends to happily ever after! Oyin and Tosin’s fairytale was made possible by mutual friends who felt they would make a perfect match.

Even though they lost touch along the way, fate had other plans. They reconnected at their friends’ wedding, and this time, it felt different. They went on to build a beautiful bond through daily conversations and intentional time spent together.

Soon enough, Tosin proposed to his baby girl, Oyin, and of course, she said yes! To legally seal their union, they exchanged vows in an intimate civil wedding ceremony, and it was all shades of sweet and special. Their wedding photos have us swooning and we bet they’ll have the same effect on you. 😍

Our love story as shared by Oyin:

Sometimes love doesn’t arrive all at once — it begins as a quiet spark, and with time, grows into something deep, steady, and everlasting. Our story began in June 2023, when we were introduced by mutual friends — the same amazing couple who would go on to get married in October of that year. They thought we might just get along, so they encouraged us to go on a date. They weren’t wrong.

From that very first meeting, something just clicked. He was kind, thoughtful, incredibly attentive — and we bonded effortlessly over our shared love for science, fitness, and all things health. We also discovered our roots ran surprisingly parallel: both our fathers hail from Ibadan in Oyo State, and both our families have strong ties to the city. It felt… familiar. Like home.

Did someone say, stunning bride?

But as life often does, things got busy. Our communication faded as we both focused on work, family, and other commitments. The spark was there, but the timing wasn’t quite aligned. Then came October 2023 — the wedding of our mutual friends. We reconnected there, and it felt as though no time had passed at all. What we thought would be an awkward catch-up turned out to be anything but. The conversation was easy, the energy was natural, and that initial connection came rushing back — stronger, clearer, and more certain than ever.

From then on, things moved with beautiful intention. We spoke daily, got to know each other more deeply, and began building a foundation rooted in faith, respect, and joy. By August 2024, he proposed — and I said yes without hesitation. In November 2024, our families came together in Ibadan for our traditional Yoruba introduction. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and cultural pride — a perfect prelude to the journey ahead. We celebrated our civil wedding in April 2025 and now, with hearts full of gratitude, we’re looking forward to our traditional and church blessing this July.

Our love story as shared by Tosin:

This is our story — one of divine timing, genuine friendship, and a love that waited patiently to bloom. I first saw her in early 2022 at a baby shower for a close family friend of mine — the same family friend who, as fate would have it, would go on to introduce us officially the following year.

We didn’t speak at the shower, but she stood out. Her presence was warm, graceful, and unforgettable. Something about her lingered with me long after that day. Still, I had no idea that she would one day become my wife. In June 2023, that same family friend — now preparing for their wedding — suggested we go on a date. I didn’t hesitate. I remembered her instantly and was excited for the opportunity to finally get to know her properly.

Tosin made such a dapper groom!

Our first date was meaningful. She was intelligent, kind, and effortlessly engaging. We connected over our shared passions for science, health, and fitness, and even deeper over our shared heritage. Both our fathers are from Ibadan, Oyo State, and our families had unknowingly walked similar paths — a beautiful coincidence that only deepened the bond.

Life got busy shortly after, and we lost touch. But destiny had other plans.

In October 2023, we saw each other again at the family friends’ wedding — the same friends who had introduced us in the first place. I wasn’t sure if things would be awkward, but the moment we reconnected, it felt like time hadn’t passed at all. The conversation was effortless, the chemistry undeniable. It was clear we had unfinished business — or perhaps, the real story was only just beginning.

From that moment on, things moved with intention. We spent more time together, got to know each other’s hearts, and discovered a peace and joy in each other that felt rare. She challenged me, grounded me, made me laugh, and made life feel even fuller.

By August 2024, I proposed — and she said yes. 💍

This is our love story — one of divine timing, silent prayers answered, and a connection that was written long before we even exchanged words.
