Sometimes, all a love story needs is one person with the perfect foresight to bring it to life. Tunji met Tosin through his mum, and the outcome is their beautiful love story.

His mother and Tosin’s stepfather were close friends, so when she stumbled on Tosin’s preaching videos, she easily came up with the idea of the lovebirds becoming an item. Quickly, she forwarded the video to Tunji, but did not just stop there. She kept following up with him daily, checking if he had truly watched the video and if he actually liked Tosin. Now that’s an expert matchmaker right there! Soon, he got her number, they started talking, and everything seemed to flow effortlessly. After a few weeks, he already knew he wanted her to be his wife! When they finally met, everything fell into place immediately, and it’s been a wonderful ride of sweet love and endless devotion.

Now the lovebirds are embarking on this forever journey and in grand style, too! They sealed their love with a beautiful outdoor white wedding, and we get to share their stunning wedding photos with you all. It all started on the 1st of December 2022, with a simple message from a guy named Tunji: “Hi Tosin” Now, let me back up a little. Tunji’s mum is old school friends with my step-dad. One day, he posted one of my preaching videos on Facebook. Tunji’s mum saw it, loved it, and… well, let’s just say she had other ideas beyond a casual like and share. She sent the video to Tunji—as she often did with inspirational content—but this time, she really followed up. “Have you watched it? What do you think? No, really, what do you think?” I think she knew exactly what she was doing (thank you, mum-in-love!). Eventually, Tunji gave in, watched the video, and next thing I know, I’m getting a message from this gentleman. We started talking — no expectations, just conversation. But from day one, he was warm, respectful, and genuinely intentional. We haven’t stopped talking since. Literally. Not one day.

A few weeks in – on New Year’s Eve, no less — he called me early in the morning and said, “It’s been four weeks since we started talking, and I know what I want. I’m not here to be your bro or your friend. I see you being my wife.” Bold, right? But what stood out was his clarity. He wasn’t asking me to respond – in fact, he said he didn’t expect me to. He just wanted to be honest and clear, and that was so refreshing. Now, full transparency: I didn’t respond to that declaration… for six months. Yes, six. But we kept talking. He kept being consistent, kind, and upfront – no pressure, no confusion. Just honesty and patience.

Then came January 2nd, our first date. He was living in Stoke, I was in London — and yes, he drove four hours to see me. I remember how nervous I was, but the moment we saw each other, all of that melted away. There was an immediate sense of ease and comfort, like we had known each other forever. After dinner, we took a walk by Tower Bridge (the same place he would later propose). As we strolled, my prayer alarm went off at 10 pm. I fumbled to silence it quickly, but he noticed and asked, “Is it a bedtime alarm?” I told him it was my prayer alarm, but assured him it was fine — I knew I’d be out. Then he said something I didn’t expect: “Well, if it’s your prayer time, we should pray.” I actually laughed and said, “But… we’re outside.” He smiled and said, “It’s fine, we can pray as we walk.” And he meant it. He started to pray. And then we worshipped, right there, walking along the river. That moment shifted something in me. His heart, his conviction, his honouring of God in that moment — that was when I knew: I could see this man being my husband! On the 25th of July (his birthday!), he asked me to be his girlfriend, and that’s when our courtship officially began. The rest? Well, you know how that goes – we’re getting married!

Their love story as shared by Tunji:

I met Oluwatosin, as I fondly call ‘the love of my life’, in person in January 2023, but made the first contact in December 2022. I remember being on my way to Uni back in November 2022 when my mum sent me a few pictures of this lady, and particularly one of her preaching videos. I initially didn’t open the message or watch the video, but after a couple of days, she called me and asked, “Se o ti ri nkan ti mo send si e?” (Have you seen what I sent to you?) I immediately watched the video and looked at the pictures and said, “yes I have, she’s not preaching heresy”. She then said “Se o like e?” (Do you like her?). At this point, I was running late for my lecture. To cut the long story short, I said ‘yes’ and asked for her number.

I did not reach out to Oluwatosin for a few more days until December 1st. I started the chat off with the awkward story of how I got her number, and we just started talking from then on. I remember feeling goosebumps the night we first met, and I couldn’t even look her in the eye on our way to the restaurant. Oluwatosin has been my friend, confidant and the absolute love of my life ever since. She makes me better in every way. It was not easy to win her over as I waited months before she finally accepted to be my girlfriend lol. I suffered! But hey! Look at her now… look at us now. I’m eternally grateful to God for giving me her and to my mum and her step-dad for being the vessels used by God to bring us together.
