Ugo Tried Running Away From Love, but Michael Swept Her Off Her Feet Completely!

You might not see the bigger picture when it comes to love, but the minute you give it a chance, as Ugo did, it becomes the most beautiful experience.

She had just moved to Lagos briefly when her sweet love story with Michael began. They bonded over prayers and Ugo’s rants, which he always patiently listened to. Soon, he began to develop deep feelings for Ugo. When she travelled to the UK for her graduation, he couldn’t hold back anymore; he knew then that he couldn’t do without her. He asked her out, and she reluctantly agreed. She gave him a 6-month ultimatum, and before that period elapsed, his undiluted affection had already won her heart! Now the lovebirds are saying yes to forever, and we are so excited for them. Every frame of their stunning pre-wedding photos reflects the sweet love they have built for themselves, and it absolutely warms our hearts. šŸ˜

Their love story as shared by Ugo:

In September, I moved to Lagos for an internship, excited about my social life… which immediately collapsed because all my friends were busy with work. That was how I found myself talking mostly to Bem.
Around that time, God was convicting me about gossiping, so I told him how I had started reading the Bible more. Sometimes I’d read something and get confused and rant to him about it. He would listen quietly and then end the call with, ā€œLet’s pray — 12 am to 4 am.ā€ Sir??? 😭. In October, I came back to Abuja for my sister’s graduation, and he insisted we meet so I could give him ā€œbusiness adviceā€ and even chose a location right next to my house. I was confused, but still thought everything was strictly brotherly.

Then, in November, I went to the UK for my graduation, with the intention of also relocating permanently. He was sad, much sadder than anyone else. He started calling to see my room, my outfits, and even asked to stay on video call while I walked to the bus stop so he could ā€œsee what I see.ā€I finally snapped and sent a 14-minute voice note asking for boundaries. He calmly said he couldn’t reduce our calls because I had become part of his routine. Routine?? I have become routine? Omo. I told him the routine must be disrupted because I wasn’t interested. That was when my ā€œchurch brotherā€ finally asked me to be his girlfriend. After considering his character, kind, loyal, patient, teachable, humble, and an excellent listener, I said yes. I wasn’t in love. But I trusted who he was.

To avoid wasting anyone’s time, I told him the relationship could not last more than six months because I wasn’t in love with him. He agreed very confidently that I would fall in love within six months. For the first three months in 2022, I was actively looking for an escape route from the relationship. Unfortunately for me, he was doing everything right. He was sweet. honest. Consistent. Thoughtful. No drama. No secrets. I couldn’t even find a proper reason to leave, which was annoying. I prayed about it and told God, ā€œThis man is not doing anything breakup-worthy.ā€ I expected God to reassure me that a scandal was coming. Instead, God told me to listen to him more and receive his love and gifts with joy. That’s when I started falling for him. The more I listened, the more I received, the deeper I fell. Six months came. I stayed 42 more months. And now it’s till death do us part.
