Your wedding dress should feel like you, not a trend, not a moment, but truly you. “Egovinu’nwa” is a mind-blowing bridal collection of five dresses by Ohlanna bu Zikora that upholds this belief.
The name of this trendsetting collection stems from a praise endearment in the Igbo language. Meaning “a precious lady,” we can definitely see it reflected in this work of art. Every breathtaking piece was crafted with care and innovation. From the unique way the fabrics are cut and sculpted to the details sewn into the silhouettes. The goal is simple: to make a dress that reflects who you are because your wedding day should be all about your true preferences. These dresses are representations of expert craftsmanship, deeply rich in style and timeless elegance. Egovinu’nwa is not just a bridal collection; it is an exquisite invitation to show up to your white wedding as your beautiful self in truly grand style.
Here’s how the designer describes the collection:
When I design wedding dresses, I’m constantly pushing for a kind of simplicity that is very rigorous yet seemingly controlled. I think a wedding dress can be the closest item that actually mirrors a woman’s essence, her convictions, her disposition, and the circumstances surrounding her existence within the framework of the love she shares with her partner. If a bride has low self-esteem, you’d see it from her choices, and vice versa for an unabashedly confident bride. A wedding dress is the purest card of honesty/self-love and should not be confined to the excesses of popular culture or trend. Egovinu’nwa is a bridal edit that contains 5 dresses surrounding the life of Obiageli, who is a symbol of Ohlanna bu Zikora’s quintessential bridal mix. It’s a cross-section of dresses representing the extensive vision and technical expertise of the brand vis, with innovative pattern cutting, sculptural eloquence, elegant drapes, generous textural-led appliques, etc. All pieces are available to be modified to the varying taste levels of brides.
