A mutual friend shared Oge’s number with Timi, and although romance wasn’t on her mind at the time, their first conversation lasted four hours. What started as a simple phone call soon blossomed into a beautiful love story, and today, they’re embarking on their forever journey.

The lovebirds tied the knot in a vibrant Igbo traditional wedding that was rich in culture, colour, and unforgettable moments. Our love story can only be described as God’s perfect handiwork. For me, it is a story deeply rooted in the belief that God truly perfects all that concerns us and that He alone can bring you the person who is perfectly designed for your heart. At the beginning of 2025, I found myself in a season where I was seeking just one thing from God: His divine direction. Unknown to me, the man who would soon become my husband was praying for exactly the same thing. Neither of us was searching for love; we were simply asking God to lead us. Little did we know that His answer would lead us directly to each other.
I still remember the day Timi first got my number from a mutual friend. My immediate reaction was far from romantic. In fact, I called our friend almost immediately and exclaimed, “Why did you give him my number?” Looking back now, we all laugh about it because I had no idea that just moments later, I would find myself on a phone call with him that lasted four hours.

Oge is one happy pride!

The conversation flowed so naturally that time seemed to disappear. Before I knew it, I was wondering where the evening had gone. Something felt different. Something felt easy. Something felt familiar. From that moment, everything happened so beautifully and effortlessly that sometimes I struggle to remember where one chapter ended and the next began. What I do remember is the peace I felt. Timi was the kind of man who made me realise that true love comes in forms and colours you never expect. He was kind, intentional, prayerful and genuine. He loved God deeply, and that love was reflected in the way he treated me.

Just four months after we met, Timi proposed.
To some, it may have seemed quick. To me, it felt perfectly timed. With every fibre of my being, I knew he was the man God had prepared for me. There was no fear, no uncertainty, just peace and complete confidence that this was God’s plan unfolding before my eyes. I remember calling my dad one day and saying, “You know how every time you tell me, ‘God bless you,’ and people constantly pray that God blesses me? I want you to know that God has truly blessed me because He sent me the man after my heart.”

One of the most memorable moments of our wedding celebration was when Timi surprised me with a song he had personally written, produced and performed for me. The song, titled ‘I Love You’, was such a special expression of his heart and our journey together. Standing there listening to the words he had created for me was an emotional reminder of God’s faithfulness and the beautiful love story He had written for us. Today, as husband and wife, we have every reason to glorify God’s name. Looking back, we see His hand in every detail, every conversation, every prayer and every step that led us to one another.
Our story is a reminder that when God writes your love story, it is always worth the wait. We asked for His direction, and He led us straight into our forever.
