They say when you meet your person, you just know—and when we met, we knew. What started with simple texts quickly became late-night FaceTime calls because we just couldn’t stop talking. With every conversation, our bond grew stronger. Our first date was at a lovely bar in Canary Wharf. He tried to steal a kiss, but the Yoruba girl in me quickly said, “Not so fast!” (Even though I secretly wanted to.) After all, good things come to those who wait.

At the time, we lived over four hours apart on opposite ends of the UK, but we always made time for each other. Distance only made our hearts grow fonder. Our journey has been filled with laughter, selflessness, unwavering love, and countless beautiful memories. There is no one else I’d rather do life with, and I’m so grateful we get to spend forever together. Here’s to choosing each other every day and growing old together. 🤍
