Although they’d unknowingly been in the same spaces before, it wasn’t until they met at church that their paths finally crossed. From that moment on, they built their love brick by brick, nurturing a bond until it blossomed into a beautiful forever. I met Onose on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at CCI Toronto after a church service. I was immediately drawn to her. Her beauty caught my attention right away. As we got talking, I discovered we had mutual friends. It was through those connections that I realised something surprising: we had both attended the same university in Nigeria. Not only that, we started in the same year, graduated in the same year, and spent four years in the same college. Yet somehow, our paths never crossed back then. It wasn’t until we both found ourselves in Canada that we finally met.

After that, I made a deliberate effort to stay in touch, checking in regularly and visiting when I could. This lasted for a while. Eventually, I relocated to a different city, and we lost some of the consistency we had at the beginning. Then in January 2025, a mutual friend intentionally brought us back into contact. This time, we approached things with more purpose and clarity, and as they say, the rest is history.
