From Best Friends to Lovers: Kayode & Oluwaseunfunmi Are Engaged!

We sure love the giddy sound of wedding bells, and today, Nollywood star Kayode Ojuolape is making us dance to their sweet tunes as he proposed to his baby girl, Oluwaseunfunmi.

You know the saying, “marry your best friend”? Well, these lovebirds took the advice seriously and are choosing to spend the rest of their lives together. Despite it being hard to surprise Oluwaseunfunmi, Kayode took up the task and planned a romantic indoor proposal with the help of her friends. Of course, she said yes. They look so cute together, and we couldn’t be happier for these two!

Here’s how Kayode planned the proposal:

We kind of always knew this was coming. The surprise wasn’t that I asked her to marry me; it was in the intentionality behind it. I recruited her friends in the planning, of course, and I had called her mum to ask for permission. We’re best friends of each other, and I’m not saying that in a cliché way, we actually played friends for a while before we realised we wanted more, and as I said, it was always going to be us spending eternity together.

Seunfunmi is a hard person to surprise, so…she wasn’t surprised at all. She knew what we were planning even though we really, really tried not to give anything away. Her friend had told her that she wanted them to go to a studio space to create content because she’s a content creator, and I told her I wanted us to go out a week after just to throw her off. We were just fooling because she knows; that didn’t stop her from crying beautiful tears tho because she’s emotional like that.

It was an intimate proposal, it had 6 of her close friends and one of mine. I wanted her to have her day and share it with her people, and she did, seeing the excitement on her face just makes me really, really happy and want to give her the world.
