It’s so beautiful to see how love evolves, and Sharon and Dami’s story is such a sweet reminder that sometimes, the best love stories begin with two strangers simply crossing paths. ❤️
These two first met by coincidence at the same party, never knowing that this would be the beginning of something beautiful. From strangers, they became friends, building a bond that grew stronger as they navigated the pandemic together. Even when distance came between them, their bond continued to blossom, proving that a little space couldn’t stop something this special! Now, their friendship has grown into a beautiful love, and as they prepare to embark on their forever journey, we get to share in the magic through their gorgeous pre-wedding shoot. Each frame captures their sweet chemistry, the joy they share and a love story that keeps blooming.

Their love story as shared by Sharon:
Dami and I met at a friend’s party in Coventry in 2018. I was in my final year of university, and he was just visiting. That night, it was very clear he was having a good time and so was I. He was literally the life of the party, making everyone laugh, and I remember looking at him thinking, “Who is this guy?!” Truthfully, Dami has always had a way of drawing people in. He’s naturally funny, warm and somehow always manages to make himself memorable without even trying. Funny enough, for someone who had already caught my attention, he barely spoke to me the whole night. We finally spoke properly at the end of the party, and from that moment, something just clicked.

We’ve spoken every single day since. For a long time, we were long-distance friends. Life had us in different places, but we were always part of each other’s day. There was always a message, a call, some random story to tell or something to laugh about. Without really noticing it, we became constants in each other’s lives. Then came COVID season and we both ended up being posted to Lagos for NYSC. I hadn’t lived in Lagos in years and honestly didn’t know my way around at all. Dami helped me with everything. If I was confused, lost or needed to figure something out, he was the person I called.
As luck would have it, I was staying with a friend in the same estate where he lived. So while the rest of the world was in chaos, we suddenly had all this time together. We’d sneak away, sit and talk for hours, laugh about everything and somehow make a really strange time in the world feel like such a sweet one for us.
Of course, everyone around us could see what we apparently couldn’t. Anytime we said we were “just friends”, nobody believed us. They were convinced we were fooling ourselves. Turns out, they might have been right.

The chemistry between us has always just been there. We can talk for hours about absolutely nothing, laugh until our stomachs hurt and somehow still have more to say. After years of friendship, inside jokes, endless calls and being there through so many different versions of each other, it eventually became impossible to pretend there wasn’t something more. So in 2024, we finally stopped pretending. By then I had moved back to London, which meant that when we finally decided to be together, we were long-distance again. But distance was almost familiar territory for us. We’d already spent years finding ways to be present in each other’s lives from different places. The only difference was that now we were doing it very much in love.

Since then, we’ve been building a life together, even across countries and time zones. It has been filled with long conversations, FaceTimes, flights, laughter, prayers, planning for the future, and so much love. Then in October 2025, Dami completely surprised me with the most beautiful proposal. He had thought about every little detail and somehow brought so many things I’d dreamed about to life. Standing there looking at someone who had been such a huge part of my life for years and realising I was about to marry him was honestly surreal. Looking back, we can see God’s faithfulness throughout our story. There were so many moments where our paths could have gone in completely different directions, and yet somehow they kept crossing. Through different seasons, different countries and different stages of life, we kept finding our way back to each other. I think that’s what makes our story so special to us. So much of it was never forced. It just kept unfolding, little by little, until friendship became love and our love became a life we now get to build together. 🤍
