From Church Crush to Forever! Bella & Edward’s Love Story Is So Sweet

The first time Bella saw Edward, she was sure he had earned himself a spot as her new crush! She didn’t know what would come of it, but fate kept bringing them into each other’s orbit. Eventually, Edward asked her out on a date, and from one date to the next, they simply never stopped talking. What started as a crush blossomed into a beautiful love story, and now, these two are getting ready to spend the rest of their lives together. Their pre-wedding shoot is giving us all the feels! Their love story, as shared by Bella:

The first time we met was in church! I remember Edward strolling in, and I turned to my friend Ketty and said, I guess I have a church crush now. But as a “hard guy,” I never let it show. Then we had a youth program in church. I was planning the event and had shared the details in the group when Edward texted me saying, “I think it will rain.” I said, “Well, iPhone says it won’t.” He replied, “Samsung says it will.” We took the banter off the group. When the day came, he was the first to arrive and texted me, but I didn’t go. Just a few minutes later, as he had predicted, it started to rain. Months went by, and it was summer. I was strolling to Ribs of Prague when I saw him, my church crush, standing outside with his friend. I turned and said hi, confused about whether we were familiar enough for a side hug or if a handshake would do. We eventually settled for an awkward handshake. And so the “hi’s” started. I would greet him every time I saw him in church, and he would too.

I liked that he was quite introverted, but I also loved that he had his eyes on me. I could feel his gaze follow me whenever I walked past in church. Then came the day I had to move out of my apartment and was selling my furniture. I saw Edward inside my pastor’s wife’s shop after church. I asked him if he would like to buy one of the pieces. He said he wanted a chest of drawers. It turned out what I sold him wasn’t actually a chest of drawers, but he took it anyway because why not. Then he asked me out for drinks. My words were: “The sun is out, so why not.” At that time, I was thinking at most it would be a date where we talk about Jesus lol. But it became so much more. What was supposed to be quick drinks turned into an eight-hour stroll across the streets of Prague, the best date of my life. As he walked me to my taxi, he said, “Bella, I want to see you again.” And so he saw me again and again, until he asked me to be his wife on the 30th of April 2026.

Their love story as shared by Edward:

Now this is the story of how my life got more beautified after God introduced Bella into it. I’ve known Bella from afar for as long as I could remember, admired her, and moved on with my life, as I usually did. We attended the same church – RCCG. She was the “Miss Popular” in the church, while I was the laid-back “Late Comer”. Who would have known that these very opposite personalities would somehow become undetachable like the unlike ends of a magnet coming together. There was a secret admiration that was never admitted (until we quarrelled about its admittance) that I had, but never did anything about it because I didn’t think we had anything in common (never judge a book by its cover), and I also did not think that I was being noticed – I was wrong.

I was away from church for a while due to the language classes I was attending at weekends, and my flatmate on two different occasions told me that I was asked after by “You Know Who”. Surprised and doubtful at the same time because I hadn’t even recalled saying “hi” to her before, so I let it slide, until she approached me at the end of the church service one random Sunday to ask if I would be attending a “Valentine’s Dinner” in church. I reluctantly accepted (with no intention of going), but since I had no plans, my flatmate and I decided to attend (we remembered that Liz was bringing afang soup).

Upon my arrival, I heard these words: You came!!!! I was like, hmmmm!!!, e be like say this babe dey trip too, but that ended there as well. On the 21st of June 2025, while I was out with my friend, we bumped into Bella and her crew, and I was like (which kyn wahala be this), because it was a very awkward and unexpected moment. I said hi but didn’t really move on this time around, and this was kinda weird, because that shouldn’t have bothered me, but I somehow was. Two Sundays after, we met in church; she struck a brief convo out of Amebo, and I was now invested in talking, but then she was kinda restless due to the fact that she was moving out and was trying to get people to help her pack. I playfully asked if she had a chest of drawers to sell, and she said yes (she used me to start a scam).

I said that I was interested in getting one, so we connected from there. Upon further conversation, I realised that what she had was a wardrobe and not the drawers (such an olodo rabata ). I still decided to go on with the purchase because she said that the wardrobe was small (she lied). In the end, I no use wardrobe, I no see my money again, but I got the vendor. We eventually got chatting, and I suggested we went out for drinks since her birthday was around the corner; it was summer, the sun was out, so yay, she said – I think. We went out, a date that I thought would last for 2 hours at most; if it was good lasted for 8 hours, and it felt like we hadn’t spent enough time, so I asked to see her again, and again, and again, until I asked to marry her.
