Their paths first crossed at Florida Memorial University in 2009, but it wasn’t until two years later that fate truly brought them together and one bold question that changed everything. What followed was a love that blossomed through the seasons. They went from deep conversations and laughter to an unexpected long-distance pause. But true love never forgets, and theirs found its way back, stronger than ever.

After an unforgettable 2Baba concert proposal, they started planning their dream wedding in Jamaica but had to bring their plans to a halt due to the pandemic. Now, six years later, they are having the wedding they’ve always dreamed of as a renewal of their vows! Our love story began at Florida Memorial University back in 2009. Though we knew of each other during those college days, our paths never truly crossed in a meaningful way. It wasn’t until 2011, when Dami had already graduated and was working in the financial aid office, that fate decided it was time for us to connect. It all happened on one ordinary but life-changing day. I walked into the financial aid office, handling some business as usual. After assisting me with what I came for, he seized the moment, looked at me with a smile, and boldly asked, “So, Ms. Blue, when are you going to let me take you out?” I was caught off guard but pleasantly surprised. So, I responded without hesitation, “You can have my number.”

That simple exchange set the wheels of our love story in motion. What started with casual conversations and playful banter grew into something deeper as we spent more time together. Dinners, long talks, shared dreams, and laughter built a bond that felt effortless and natural. It seemed like our story was writing itself, chapter by chapter. But, like any journey, ours wasn’t without challenges. In March 2015, after almost four years of shared moments, we parted ways. Dami moved to Houston, seeking a fresh start, while I stayed back in Miami. The distance between us wasn’t just physical—it felt like our story had been put on pause. Though we tried to move forward in our separate lives, the connection we had wasn’t so easily forgotten. We stayed in touch sporadically over the years, sharing quick messages and updates, until late 2017, when God decided it was time for our paths to cross again.

What started as rekindled conversations slowly blossomed into something familiar yet stronger. We realized that no matter where life had taken us, we were always meant to find our way back to each other. By 2019, Dami knew it was time to make it official. He planned an unforgettable proposal at a 2Baba (AKA 2Face) and Falz concert, orchestrating everything down to the smallest detail. With the help of the legendary 2Baba, who paused his performance halfway through singing “African Queen” after Dami playfully pushed me out to the front. 2Baba then called Dami out and handed me the microphone. The crowd went WILD as he got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

It was a moment straight out of a dream, and, of course, I said yes. Shortly after, we tied the knot and started planning our dream wedding celebration in Jamaica for 2020. But as the world knows all too well, COVID-19 had other plans. Though our big celebration was halted indefinitely, it didn’t dampen our spirits or the joy of our union. We knew that when the time was right, we would have the celebration we always envisioned. Now, 6 years later, here we are. The timing is finally perfect, and we are ready to celebrate our love in the way it always deserved. Our story has been one of resilience, growth, and unshakable love, and we can’t wait to continue writing it together.
