Sometimes, love shows up just when you need it most — in the quiet, low moments when you’re not even searching. For Tosin and Gbohohun, it was in one of those seasons that their paths crossed, and something beautiful began to bloom.

Though neither of them was actively seeking love, the connection they shared was undeniable. What started as a moment of mutual healing slowly blossomed into a deep, intentional bond. Soon, love showed up with the most unexpected, beautiful gift of all — each other. Now, they are stepping into forever as they seal their love with an intimate civil wedding ceremony. It started in a season when we were both quietly trying to heal. We didn’t plan to be in the same space; we were just following God, each in our own broken way. She had moved into her sister’s house. I had moved in too (on the same day, and we didn’t even plan to 😂). I was seeking guidance and space to rebuild. Her sister and her husband, our pastors, opened their doors to us, and we would forever be grateful.
We grew close, too close to ignore it. But I had just gotten out of a relationship, and I remember telling her something I meant with every part of me: “I see you. I know what we both feel. But I need you to wait for me. I just came out of something, and I can’t look stupid to God, or to the people I honour, and more than anything, I want to honour you.”

On January 28, 2024, I asked her to be my girlfriend.
One year later, I asked her to be my wife.
She had always said she wanted her proposal to be very private, just the two of us in the room, but she also wanted her friends right after. So I made sure it was exactly what she wanted. I made space for our people, right after our intimate proposal, her friends, my friends her family. She’s the most beautiful part of my life. He’s the safest home I’ve ever known. This is how our forever began.

He had been in my DMs years back, always complementing me and always being kind, but I never really gave him space. Until this season forced me to really SEE him. We stopped talking for a shortly after then, letting God do the deep work we couldn’t rush. Months later, we found our way back. It wasn’t perfect. We argued (a lot 😂), misunderstood each other, discovered the rough edges of two different worlds. But in all of it, we kept choosing to learn each other. We saw the best and the broken, and we stayed. This man is kind. Intentional. Wise. He saw me. He waited for me. He made me feel safe enough to fall and sure enough to stay.
