I first met Ujo on Twitter when she responded to one of my tweets, and we started bantering every other day. I linked her with an internship opportunity, and over the years, we became each other’s closest friends. Then, on a trip with my friends for my birthday, something shifted. I was surrounded by all my favourite people, but I just wanted to spend the day with her. It hit me that we really were the right people at the right time.

We were initially worried about jeopardising our friendship, but after a meaningful and overdue conversation, we decided to stop dancing around it and go for it. Looking back, our friends and family (S/O Imani, Adiya, Ohie, Oche and Zenret 🤭) had clearly figured it out before we did and were patiently rooting for us while we caught up. LOL.

Our engagement was hardly any surprise, to be honest. It was more, “Of course. It’s Andy and Ujo.” And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
