They Closed Their Hearts to Love, Then They Found Each Other and It’s Been #Symless26 Ever Since

The heart truly knows what it wants, and in moments when it feels like it’s not forthcoming, fate always seems to find a way to align the stars and lead you right to the centre of the love meant for you.

Symone and Alessandro were at a point in their lives where they had both closed their hearts to love. Symone had even made a list of the qualities she wanted in the man she would spend the rest of her life with. Just when it seemed like finding that person might remain a distant dream, Alessandro walked into her life and ticked every single box.

After meeting at an event, she almost didn’t pick up his call, but thank heavens she did! That one decision sparked what would become three years of endless conversations, beautiful memories, and a love that neither of them saw coming. Now, they are set to spend the rest of their lives together, and their pre-wedding photos are giving us all the feels. From the sweet smiles to the undeniable chemistry, every frame is a testament to a love that found its way at just the right time. 😍

Enjoy their pre-wedding shoot and love story below:

Their love story, as shared by Symone:

A year before I met my fiancé, I wrote a list in my positivity journal describing the kind of husband I prayed for. I didn’t focus on his appearance or his career. I focused purely on his character, his heart, and the way I wanted to feel loved. I prayed over those words and tucked the journal away. What followed was a season that nearly broke me. I experienced a series of relationships and situationships that left me emotionally exhausted and disheartened. I also faced heartbreak from close friendships, which deepened my weariness. Two months before meeting my fiancé, I made a decision to choose myself fully. I stepped away from relationships and social distractions and poured into healing, self-love, and peace. I was taking myself on dates, planning solo trips and birthdays, and for the first time in a long time, I was genuinely happy and whole.

At the time, I was consulting for a professional skincare company and a wellness clinic. At the end of the year, they hosted a staff party, and I decided to attend alone, not knowing guests were allowed. One of the IT staff brought a friend, the man who would later become my fiancé. When he walked in, my first thought was, Who is this? I was shy and kept to myself, while he confidently introduced himself to everyone in the room, making eye contact and shaking hands. When it was my turn, something about his presence stayed with me. He ended up sitting directly across from me and spent the entire night looking my way. I was so awkward that I avoided his gaze completely. His friend couldn’t stop praising him, his intelligence, his character and I was intrigued but far too shy to make a move. I remember thinking, A good-looking geek… definitely my type.

Despite my awkwardness, he approached me, introduced himself properly, and we exchanged numbers. At first, I misjudged him because he was private about his work, and I assumed the wrong things. But that same night, he called to make sure I had arrived home safely. Two weeks later, he randomly FaceTimed me. I almost didn’t answer, but I did. From that moment on, we haven’t gone a single day in three years without speaking. What makes our story even more special is that he, too, had closed his heart to relationships after a painful experience. We both met each other while focused on ourselves, not looking for love. Yet he told me something told him I was worth the risk, and I am forever grateful he listened.

He embodies everything I once wrote in my journal. He is my best friend, my partner, my safe place, my husband. He filled a void I didn’t even realise I still carried and taught me what it means to be loved properly. I see him as a reflection of God’s love for me, and I strive every day to be a reflection of God’s love for him. Together, we’ve grown, achieved, and overcome so much. With God and with him by my side, nothing feels impossible. His love is sacrificial, kind, and deeply respectful. His empathy humbles me and inspires me to be a better person. He is loved everywhere he goes, and his work ethic constantly motivates me to push myself further.
