Within the first few minutes of meeting someone, a lot can happen. For Obaro, those few minutes of meeting Omotara left him with a certainty that he had found his wife.

What started with a friendly exchange 8 years ago led to something magical as they discovered they had more in common. Now, Obaro and Omotara are set to say “I do”, and we are super pumped! As they count down to their big day, the lovebirds are giving us the perfect little teaser with their pre-wedding shoot. They say some people just know when they’ve met “the one.” Apparently… he decided that within minutes.  Eight years ago, on my birthday, a colleague told me, “You look beautiful today. Today, you’re going to meet your husband.” I laughed and thought nothing of it. Then I was asked to cover the reception desk for lunch… and he walked in. According to him, he saw a beautiful lady and gathered the courage to say hello. According to me… I was thinking, “Wow, he’s handsome.” 😂

Within minutes, we discovered we were both anime fans and started talking like old friends. Then he asked for my surname. When I told him, he said, “If you’re related to my friend Yomi, I’m going to marry you.” Five minutes. That’s all it took. 😂

He called his friend, confirmed we were related (Yomi was my cousin)… and then, because apparently the universe was determined to make this a love story, his phone died. I helped him order an Uber—and accidentally forgot to select cash payment. That tiny mistake brought him back the next day. He could have simply repaid me and left. Instead, he asked me to lunch.

One lunch became many. Friendship became love. And love survived over six years of long distance, thousands of miles, countless calls, and every challenge life threw at us.

So yes… our love story started with anime, a bold prediction, a dead phone, and a prepaid Uber. 😂❤️

Eight years later, we’re married. And honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing. ❤️
