Have you ever met someone for the first time and, within just a few minutes, felt drawn to them in a way you couldn’t quite explain? That was Tola’s experience the first day he met Abby at her niece’s naming ceremony.

Something about her immediately stood out, and his curiosity gave him the perfect excuse to start a conversation, get her contact, and see where this connection could lead. Before they knew it, they were on their first date, and with every conversation, Tola became even more certain that he had found his soulmate, and it’s been a magical ride ever since. One year ago, the lovebirds celebrated their love with an intimate wedding, officially beginning their forever together.

Now, on their first wedding anniversary, Tola and Abby are taking things up a notch with #TheATSequel, a grand celebration of their love surrounded by family and friends. In anticipation, they are serving up so much love and beauty with the pre-wedding shoot, and we can’t get enough.

I met Abby at her niece’s naming ceremony. I remember seeing this gorgeous woman who was so focused on helping with everything that was going on. She was in the kitchen putting food together and making sure things were taken care of, and I actually thought she was one of the vendors at first!😂 Beyond how beautiful she was, what really caught my attention was how willing she was to help. I remember thinking that she had to be a genuinely kind person.

I got her number that day, and the very next day, we went on a walk together. We talked for hours, and the more I got to know her, the more I realised that she had so many of the qualities I had prayed for and hoped to find in my wife. There was something about our connection that felt easy and intentional from the very beginning.

A few months into dating, we both knew that what we had was something we wanted to turn into a lifelong commitment. Seven months into our relationship, I asked Abby to be my wife, and three months after getting engaged, we officially got married. Exactly one year later, on our first wedding anniversary, we celebrated our love all over again with our Nigerian traditional wedding ceremony and a vow renewal surrounded by our family and friends, hence #TheATSequel.
It’s funny how a seemingly ordinary moment can end up changing the course of your entire life. What started with a chance meeting at a naming ceremony and a simple walk the very next day became the beginning of our forever. Looking back, we can see God’s hand woven through every part of our story, and we’re so grateful that something so seemingly small led us here.
