In May 2025, our forever began with something as simple as one like on the dating app, Hinge. From our very first conversation, it felt like we had known each other for years. When we finally met, our “first date” turned into seven unforgettable hours—two strangers becoming certain there was something different, something God-ordained.

Though our stories began in different places—Me, a Yoruba man, and Amy (Oluwafikunayomi), an Afro-Latina from Honduras—we quickly discovered our hearts spoke the same language: faith, family, and love. Then came a beautiful surprise—Amy’s ancestry DNA revealed she is 98.5% Nigerian, specifically Yoruba. We often smile and say God was connecting our paths long before we ever knew each other existed. What started as a simple match became a love built on purpose, friendship, laughter, prayer, and countless meals shared together. One year after that first date, we returned to the same day that started it all—not as two people searching, but as two hearts choosing forever. Our story reminds us that when God writes a love story, every detail is intentional.
