It’s so funny how we can sometimes be unaware of love, even when it’s unfolding right in front of us. Bashirat met Abiola during her second year in university.
They became friends, and while she had plans to matchmake him with her friend, he had other intentions — he asked her to be his girlfriend instead. Life eventually took them down different paths after school, but fate had its own plan. They reconnected years later, and it was all about perfect timing. Now, they’re set to spend the rest of their lives together as they tied the knot in a lovely Yoruba traditional wedding. Their special day was a beautiful showcase of culture, love, and style… their photos will make you smile.

Abiola made such a gorgeous bride
There their love story as shared by Abiola:
We first met at the end of my second year in university. My school has multiple campuses and I went to his campus for my SIWES programme. That’s where we crossed paths. He approached me and started a friendly conversation. At the time, I thought it was just casual. In fact, I even tried to matchmake him with someone else, completely unaware that he had different intentions. Not long after, he asked me out. We started dating from there. But after some time, communication faded. We drifted apart, and life took us in different directions. We both moved on. Still, there’s truth in what people say: Sometimes, it’s not about meeting the right person, it’s about meeting at the right time. When we reconnected later on, it was different. We were both more mature, more grounded. This time, it made sense. And it felt right.
