It wasn’t a great time for her because of the apparent circumstance, but it didn’t deter Damilola from reaching out to her on Instagram. Over the years, he remained consistent and intentional. He was indeed truly determined to have Busayo. Did he succeed? Yes, he did, with a truly sweet gesture. Now the lovebirds are saying yes to forever, and we are so excited for them! Dami and I first crossed paths in 2018 at university. It was one of those fleeting moments that felt ordinary at the time but would later mean everything. I was rushing to an exam, moving too fast for him to stop me. But something about that moment stayed with him. Determined not to let it slip away, he went searching… and somehow found me on Instagram. He reached out, again and again. I didn’t respond at first, and even when I finally did in 2020 out of sheer boredom, I wasn’t ready for love. I pulled away, even blocked him at one point. But Dami… he never gave up on me. In the most gentle and intentional way, he kept showing up, finding ways to reconnect, reminding me that some things are worth waiting for. Then came the moment that changed everything. He told me he had a gift for me and asked for my home address. I thought it would arrive at my door through a dispatch rider … but instead, he came himself. He drove three hours to my parents’ house and poured his heart out.
