Before the wedding

Carinna‘s wedding was planned by Christina Okpala of PreMilliEnts Events who contacted and booked my services for the bride. I did have the chance to speak with Carinna closer to the wedding date regarding her looks. I was really touched with the bride’s trust in me to bring her bridal look to life without needing a trial.

On the wedding

On her wedding day, I made my way to the London Marriot Hotel, Canary Wharf where her bridal prep took place.

Makeup process

I began her makeup by cleansing and hydrating her skin with my favourites – Bioderma and Embryolisse. Her brows were a bit sparse and she really wanted her brows on “fleek”. I used MAC brow pencil in spiked to fill in the brows and MAC eyeshadow in embark to blend it in.

On her eyelids I applied MAC paint pot in quite natural and using MAC eyeshadows in Arena, Woodwinked, Embark and Carbon, I created a soft smokey eye that wasn’t overpowering. Glam Lashes finished off the look. On her skin, I applied Becca ever matte poreless primer and buffed in NARS all day luminous weightless foundation in a mix of Cadiz and Macao. This foundation was made for her! It actually looked luminous on her skin! I then concealed and highlighted under her eyes using NARS creamy concealer in a mix of amande and caramel.

This was set with Laura Mercier loose powder in Translucent and the rest of her face with a light dusting of MAC studio fix powder in NC45. MAC dollymix blush was swirled all over her cheeks and blended towards her hairline. Carinna really wanted sculpted cheeks so I used MAC studio fix powder in NW45 and 50 to add definition to her cheekbones. Shimmer highlight used was MAC Oh darling (discontinued). To finish off Carinna’s look I lined her lips using MAC lipliner in Whirl and filled in using MAC lipstick in Pink Nouveau. For extra oomph, I applied NARS lipgloss in Easy Lover.

I don’t think I need to say much, Carinna was positively glowing! You can catch up with Joy Adenuga’s work on www.joyadenuga.com or @joyadenuga on Instagram.
