When Juliet first saw Timothy in church, she had already made up her mind about him. As the talented keyboardist with plenty of admirers, he simply wasn’t someone she imagined herself falling for. But while she was busy overlooking him, he was quietly hoping for a chance with her.

But as we’ve come to know, love has a beautiful way of showing up when and where you least expect it. It found Juliet and Timothy, and what began as an unlikely connection blossomed into a love that grew stronger. Our story began in church. He was the keyboardist, and I remember noticing how many girls admired him and constantly tried to get his attention. Because of that, I wasn’t particularly interested; I honestly didn’t think anything would ever come from it. What I didn’t know at the time was that he had already taken an interest in me. He kept asking for my number, and eventually, I gave in. Even then, nothing happened right away. Life went on, and we went our separate ways for a while.

About two years later, we reconnected, and this time, everything felt different. We began talking more intentionally, getting to know each other on a deeper level. What started as a renewed friendship gradually blossomed into love. Not long after we started dating, I left for nursing school. It wasn’t the easiest season for us. The distance and the demands of school were challenging, but he never once made me feel alone. He encouraged me every step of the way, believed in my dreams, patiently waited for me to finish, and constantly reminded me that we were building a future together.

When I completed my nursing degree, he asked me to marry him, and without a doubt, I said yes. It was the easiest “yes” of my life. Looking back, I’m deeply grateful that God’s timing was different from mine. What I almost overlooked turned out to be one of the greatest blessings of my life. I didn’t just find a husband; I found a best friend, my biggest supporter, and someone I cannot wait to spend forever with.
