Favour can certainly relate because that’s how her soulmate, Maxwell, came into her life. She was too busy dealing with the stress of an apartment mix-up to notice Cupid’s plans at play. But Maxwell was sure not to let this opportunity slip out of his sight. He decided to try out nature’s oldest trick of bringing food to impress a crush — and it worked! Sometimes, the best love stories begin with a little inconvenience. When an apartment mix-up brought us together, I was far too frustrated to notice his attempts to help. But Maxwell noticed me, and being the only bachelor in the compound certainly didn’t hurt his chances! A few chance encounters later, a leaking kitchen tap gave him the perfect excuse to arrive with pizza and drinks.

We still laugh that it was his version of nature’s oldest courtship strategy: bringing food to impress a mate. That simple gesture led to hours of conversation, a growing friendship, beautiful bouquets, unforgettable dates, and, before long, love. A year later came the proposal, and today, we begin our greatest adventure yet, as husband and wife.
