One First Date Turned Into Two, and Muna and Ayo Never Looked Back!

It’s amazing how one moment, you can meet a stranger, and the next minute, you can’t seem to get them off your mind. For Muna and Ayo, it all began at an event where they met and exchanged contacts.

A few days later, they went on their first date, and even though there were a few unexpected hitches along the way, they somehow ended up having two dates in one day! It turned out to be a night neither of them wanted to end, and thankfully, they now get to live out their own lifelong fairytale. Today, they’re giving us a glimpse into their happily ever after with their pre-wedding shoot. From their sweet chemistry to the beautiful moments they shared, Muna and Ayo are serving all the feels as they count down to saying “I do.” 😍

Enjoy their pre-wedding shoot and love story below:

Their love story as shared by Muna:

Our story started at an event where we met, exchanged contacts, and went our separate ways. A few days later, he asked me out, and that was the beginning of everything. Our first date is still one of my favourite memories because, honestly, I thought I had already messed things up before it even started.  He came all the way to my city to see me, and I was 45 minutes late. To make matters worse, I lived only eight minutes away from the restaurant. 😭

I was so worried that he would be upset and that I had completely ruined the vibe before we even got to know each other. But he was so chill about it. He didn’t make me feel bad at all. Instead, he laughed about it and teased me about living eight minutes away and still managing to be 45 minutes late.
That immediately put me at ease. I had plans to go to a friend’s surprise birthday after our date, and somehow, he ended up inviting me to the club that same night. So, technically, we had two first dates in one day. 🥰

As we spent more time together, I quickly realised that there was something different about him. He is genuinely one of the kindest and most intentional people I know. And it’s not just with me. He is that way with his family, his friends, and even my family. He’s an only child, so when he came into my life, he suddenly found himself surrounded by a very large family, lots of siblings, and even more nieces and nephews.  And somehow, this man who grew up as an only child has become everyone’s favourite Uncle Ayo.

He is so generous with what he has and is always willing to share. Whether it’s his time, his things, his food, or simply his attention, he never makes people feel like they are asking for too much. Watching him with my nieces and nephews has honestly been one of my favourite things. They absolutely adore him, and I think it’s because he treats them like they’re his own. He has somehow gone from being the new person in the family to the uncle everyone wants to see first. 😂

It has also been beautiful watching him become so close to my family. He didn’t just marry into my family; he genuinely became part of it. One of the things I love most about our relationship is how naturally everything developed. There was no pressure to make it something it wasn’t. We just enjoyed each other, became best friends, and somewhere along the way, I realised I couldn’t imagine my life without him.

Then came the proposal.
It was honestly one of my favourite days ever because he had thought of everything. He planned it so carefully and somehow managed to involve my family and friends without giving the whole thing away.
We were supposedly going to a “wedding,” so naturally, I had no reason to suspect anything. 😂
Except there was no wedding. He had created an entire fake wedding website with a real couple just to make the story believable and throw me off. Looking back, the amount of work that went into keeping me from finding out is actually hilarious. He even made sure I had the dress I loved for the day.

When I think about the proposal now, what makes me emotional isn’t just that he asked me to marry him. It’s the thought that went into making the day special for me and making sure the people I love were part of it. That is really who he is.

He is intentional. He pays attention. He shows up. And he loves the people in his life so deeply. From one random event to a 45-minute-late first date to somehow having two first dates in one day to a fake wedding website and the real proposal of my dreams… I think our story is proof that sometimes the best things in life happen when you aren’t planning them.I didn’t know that meeting him that day would lead me here. But I’m so grateful it did. And now, after everything, I get to marry my best friend, the only child who somehow became the favourite uncle in a family full of siblings, nieces and nephews. ❤️
