When Cupid gets busy, you know a sweet love story is about to unfold! For Peace, it all started with a lovely match on Hinge, a leap of faith during the “Hallelujah Challenge,” and a dreamy Valentine’s Day date with Kevin that sealed the deal. Talk about everything falling into place!

There was no denying the chemistry between them, and 20 months after that first Hinge match, Kevin decided it was time to make things official in the sweetest way. He surprised Peace with a romantic proposal, but that wasn’t all! He had also brought together her family and friends to witness the special moment, making it even more beautiful. Our love story began on the morning of 12th February 2025, when Kevin and I matched on Hinge. We had our first phone call that evening, and the conversation flowed so effortlessly. It felt so natural, and I remember coming off the phone feeling really good about our conversation. What makes that evening even more special to me is that, after our call, I joined my sister for the Hallelujah Challenge. That night, we both put rings on our fingers and prayed concerning our future marriages. Little did I know that I had just spent the evening speaking to the man who would become my fiancé and, by the grace of God, my future husband!

The following day, Kevin and I spoke practically all day, and during another phone call that evening, he asked if I was free to go on a date on Valentine’s Day. I remember asking him if he was absolutely sure he wanted our very first date to be on such a special day, but he didn’t mind at all! So, just two days after matching, we went on our first date on Valentine’s Day! We spent the day enjoying an activity together, followed by dinner, and it honestly couldn’t have gone any better. Everything felt so easy and natural, and we both left that evening with a feeling that something special was beginning.

Over the next few weeks, we continued getting to know each other and going on more dates. Then, just six weeks after we first met, Kevin decided to make things official in the sweetest way. We had gone on a date to Puttshack, where we took some pictures together in a photo booth. Unbeknownst to me, while I had stepped away to use the bathroom, Kevin had secretly written a little question on the back of our photo printout.

Later that evening, while we were waiting for our train, he casually handed me the printed pictures. Completely oblivious, I turned them over and saw that he’d written a question asking me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I immediately said YES! 🥹 From there, our relationship continued to blossom into something so beautiful. We became increasingly involved in each other’s lives, met each other’s families and friends, made wonderful memories and had countless conversations about the future we wanted to build together.

One of the things I cherish most about our relationship is that we’ve always kept God at the centre of it all. Our love has grown through friendship, intentionality, faith, and a shared desire to build a future together. Fast-forward 20 months from that first Hinge match, and Kevin asked me another very special question. Only this time, it wasn’t whether I’d be his girlfriend, but whether I’d be his wife!

Now, I have to admit, I wasn’t entirely surprised by the proposal itself! Much to Kevin’s annoyance, I had managed to figure out that it was coming, so naturally, I made sure I was suitably prepared for the occasion! 😂 However, what I didn’t know was that he had another surprise up his sleeve.

After the beautiful proposal, Kevin had secretly organised a surprise dinner with our family and friends to celebrate our engagement. Walking in and seeing so many of our loved ones gathered together to share in such a special moment was something I genuinely hadn’t expected. He may not have managed to surprise me with the proposal, but he certainly made up for it with the celebration afterwards!

Looking back, it’s so beautiful to see how everything unfolded. From matching on Hinge and praying over my future marriage that very same evening, to our first date on Valentine’s Day, and now preparing to spend forever together. What started with a simple match has become one of God’s sweetest answered prayers, and I couldn’t be more grateful that I get to do life with Kevin. ❤️
