There’s something about the Christmas season that fills the air with so much joy, warmth and excitement.  And sometimes, right in the middle of all that festive magic, a beautiful love story begins!

Temitope met Dolapo some years ago at a mutual friend’s Christmas party in Lagos, and let’s just say she made quite the impression on him! He was determined to win her heart, going the extra mile with thoughtful birthday gifts and even braving Lagos traffic to make special moments happen.  Well, it’s safe to say his efforts paid off because these two are now getting ready to spend forever together!

Our love story began at our mutual friends’ Christmas party while I was visiting Lagos, Nigeria, a couple of years back. On December 31 of that same year, Dolapo drove all the way after his crossover service at Daystar Lagos to see me, knowing I was leaving Nigeria on January 1. The traffic was so heavy that he spent hours on the road, arriving just after 11 pm. I remember my sister teasing him, saying he must truly be determined to see me if he was willing to brave the New Year’s Eve traffic. When he finally arrived, we talked late into the new year, and from that night on, we became friends.

On my birthday, Dolapo sent me birthday gifts even though we were miles apart in different countries. I was surprised that he would spend so much on just a friend. A few months later, he invited me to Mexico for his birthday celebration, and we’ve become inseparable since then. Now we’re married.
