Bridal Styled shoot has a way of giving a graphical insight into what your day will look like. Now with all that has happened with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that couples who have had to reschedule their day, see how they can pull off an intimate ceremony that satisfies all the safety guidelines and is still as beautiful as they want it to be.

That’s what the Elysian Wedding styled shoot by a team of wedding vendors headed by Feyikemi Kukoyo of FTK~Konnect Event aimed for.  According to the planner, An Elysian wedding can be translated in Greek as having a Heaven on Earth Wedding. They made that possible with the choice of colour palette- white, crystals and silver. So if you need to see how you can have a grand ceremony even with the safety guidelines, here’s one for you.

The curator and planner of this styled shoot, Feyikemi Kukoyo of FTK~Konnect Event shared a description of the shoot:

The pandemic took us all by surprise and for the first couple of weeks after the nationwide shut down – I would wake up in disbelief at the news of COVID-19 daily and how quickly it was spreading. It started to dawn on me that events and weddings planned for Spring/Summer of 2020 were not going to be happening almost about a month into the global isolation period. Alas, we were truly experiencing unprecedented times and while I continued to renew my faith that all would be well soon, I also had to be realistic with our clients that their Spring & Summer events had to be postponed. The first two months of the shut down had my team and me mostly on the phones, emailing a lot of venues, clients, vendors etc to get weddings and events rescheduled. We fully dedicated our time to helping our clients, their family and friends to soften the blow we were dealt with in the wake of the COVID-19.  As an international wedding firm – our job is continuous. We don’t get a break because each wedding or various events we manage are projects we see through from onset to the successful execution on the day off. We are always actively wedding or event planning. Finally! In the third month of “national stay home due to the pandemic,” I started to think of how to help our current clients and potential clients to visualize their BIG day during our new normal. COVID-19 may not be eradicated as quickly as we want but celebration(s) would not be halted either so the earlier we start to find ways around enjoying events again during this new normal the better we would be able to finetune and work out the kinks.

An Elysian wedding was born out of the desire to show a visual depiction of how engaged couples, as well as their vendors, can social distance yet have a successful wedding. My team and I collaborated with some amazing vendors to simulate an actual wedding. We started off as we would normally do with hair and makeup stylist dolling our model bride up, while we had the groom’s outfit designer dress him up. Our models were both pampered and dolled up in the glam room and moved from there to our beautiful ceremony set where Actor/Publisher – Stella Damasus was awaiting their arrival via zoom. The couple got married via zoom and it was such a beautiful sight to behold.  Vendors who had set up with us earlier in the day were encouraged to attend the lovely wedding as guests in black attire to further emphasize the social distancing wedding seating arrangement.

After the ceremony, we took a break to eat and drink (like a cocktail hour during a pre-COVID wedding) then shortly after it was time for a quick reception which entailed the couple having their first dance on a cloud. The beautiful slice of heaven colour palette for An Elysian wedding was white, crystal and silver – now imagine how heavenly their first dance was. An Elysian wedding can be translated in Greek as having a Heaven on Earth Wedding. My goal when I came up with this theme, colour palette and the styled shoot was to put a smile on engaged couple’s faces, show this as a beacon of hope that lush wedding ceremonies can still happen in a social distancing world where few friends and family can celebrate in person while others enjoy from anywhere else in the world via various social media platforms. Intimate weddings and events can be fun! As a matter of fact – we are huge advocates for luxury intimate events as they stand out as unforgettable experiences enjoyed by an exclusive few.
