Perhaps you’ve already crossed paths with the love of your life—you just don’t know it yet. After all, love has a beautiful way of showing up at the right time, when every piece of the puzzle finally falls into place.

Emilie and Vangeli’s story is proof of that. They grew up in the same neighbourhood, walked the same streets, and even attended the same primary school. Although their paths had crossed countless times over the years, life had its own timeline, and their hearts didn’t truly meet until the perfect moment.

The lovebirds first made things official at an intimate civil ceremony, where they signed the dotted lines and began their forever journey as husband and wife. They then celebrated their union with a beautiful white wedding, where they exchanged heartfelt vows and received their church blessings in the presence of their family and friends.  From the sweet smiles to the effortless chemistry and stylish looks, every frame is a reflection of a love that was always meant to be.

Our paths had crossed long before our hearts met. Both from Kolwezi, our paths have crossed since childhood. We grew up in the same city, shared the same streets, and attended the same benches at primary school. Then life led us to Lubumbashi for our secondary education. And yet, despite this proximity, our paths never really mingled until that famous 19 October 2018. Through a mutual friend, a simple conversation began. It was a natural, light exchange… but one that would change everything. Something invisible, inexplicable… and yet so powerful.

We liked to spend time together, laughing, talking, sharing meals, studying, prolonging moments. And slowly, almost timidly, the feelings found their place. But we chose to be friends. The years have passed. Life went on. The distance has settled in. And as they say it so well: Two souls made to be together always end up finding each other. At the beginning of 2023, we got back in touch. I, in Dubai, immersed in my studies. Vangeli in Belgium, continuing on his way.

Distance did not erase anything. On the contrary, it revealed everything. In October 2023, he decided to come visit me. A date that would redefine everything. A moment suspended, charged with emotions, truth and courage. This trip was not a coincidence. For him, it was a certainty. A response to his feelings. And with overwhelming determination, he looked at me and said: “It’s you I want.” At that moment, everything was finally making sense. That was the real beginning of our story. In March 2024, he offered me a promise ring, accompanied by these words: “Everything has its time. I told you… and I will make it happen.” Today, that promise is becoming a reality.
