Sometimes, people come into your life and leave a mark that never really goes away. Nenye and James were secondary school mates who eventually became friends, and over the years, their friendship grew into something truly special.

They stayed connected through the years, supporting each other and being there through different seasons of life. It wasn’t until their first official date last year, however, that things began to change. What started as a long-standing friendship soon blossomed into something more, and now, they’re set to spend the rest of their lives together. They are blessing us with the magic of their pre-wedding shoot, and we are so obsessed! Back in secondary school, my first impression of James was that he was always so serious, carrying himself in a way that made me curious to know more about him. I secretly had a crush on him, and my heart always felt a little happier whenever I saw him around. Long before we started dating in 2025, James had already been my person for the longest time. My entire family knew about my friend James because he was always checking in on me. He never missed my birthday, even when we were just friends, and he was always my go-to person. He cared for me deeply, always wanting the very best for my future. He would even update my CV almost every year and go out of his way to help me access better opportunities. Looking back, I am truly grateful for the care, support, and kindness he consistently showed me. James had always said that if he ever got the chance to date me, he would make me his wife-and he kept his word.

Their love story as shared by James:

There was something unique about the way Nenye carried herself. She was remarkably mature for her age -quiet and reserved, yet always wearing a warm, welcoming smile. Her calm presence naturally stood out to me. One of the moments that made everything feel different was 2 February 2024, my birthday, when Nenye got me the very first birthday cake I could remember receiving. It was also the first time she had ever bought a birthday cake for someone, which made the gesture even more special. Then came our first official date on 20 June 2025. I had gone with a list of questions I wanted to ask, but the moment Nenye walked into the room, none of them seemed to matter anymore. In that instant, I knew she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with-my wife, my forever, and my very own.

Our journey was not without its challenges. Our relationship was long-distance, something neither of us initially wanted, but somehow we made the distance feel almost non-existent. Through consistent communication, staying connected, and choosing each other every day, we broke every barrier that distance tried to create. And through it all, what started as a friendship grew into a love that brought us right here-to forever.
